You have to listen to this song, “Soldier Without Armor.” It was written, composed and recorded by a 10-year-old and two 12 year olds for their young friend battling cancer. These kids are truly amazing and inspiring – we adults can learn so much from them. They are a wonderful example of what living life solid is all about…

When someone is diagnosed with cancer, it is great to have friends who can help. That is what happened when Annika Knudson, age 11, was diagnosed with Burkitt’s lymphoma. Raintree Montessori School students Erin Scherl, age 10, Jayke Workman, age 12 and Shannon Tichenor, age 12, wanted to do something to help their friend so they turned their worry into hope composing a song entitled “Soldier Without Armor.” Known as Annika’s Song, the young artists wrote both the lyrics and the melody, and with the help of musician Mike West, made a recording. The result is a hauntingly beautiful melody about the power of friendship and love to overcome one of life’s greatest challenges: cancer. While in Mike West’s recording studio, the children also recorded “I’m Here,” another song they wrote.
NOTE: Annika has been pronounced cancer free by her doctors!
